Applications of Operational Safety

Course Description

The purpose of this course is to apply existing knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) as an Incident Safety Officer (ISO), and to support the safety of all personnel.  This will be accomplished through a proactive and continual risk analysis that identifies and mitigates  hazards to personnel at any incident scene, planned event, or training exercise where there is an operational deployment.

Who Should Attend

The target audience includes fire and emergency medical services (EMS) responders who may be designated by the Incident Commander (IC) as an ISO while working within the ICS.

Special Notes

Application For FEMA Credit: In addition to the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) application process, students are eligible to also apply for a training certificate from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) / National Fire Academy (NFA) for completing this course.
