Night Vision Shooting Fundamentals

Course Description
This course is designed to assist current law enforcement officers who are authorized to use night vision devices and laser aiming devices in the line of duty. Officers will be trained in night vision terminology, function and considerations. Officers will also learn NVG malfunction techniques, reloads, malfunctions, target engagement use of cover with NVGs and shooting on the move with both the patrol rifle and duty pistols.
Prerequisites
Students who attend this course must be certified and sworn law enforcement officers.
Who Should Attend
This course should be attended by officers who are authorized to use night vision devices and laser aiming devices in the line of duty.
Special Notes
Students must bring Night Vision Monocular or Binoculars with mounting system (helmet of head mount), Patrol Rifle with mounted light, zeroed rifle optics, mounted Rifle Laser Aiming Device, a sling, 3 rifle magazines minimum, duty pistol with zeroed sighting system, mounted pistol light, minimum of 3 magazines, duty belt with minimum of 2 rifle magazines pouches and 2 pistol magazine pouches. Students will also need ear protection, eye protection, and a hat with a brim or helmet. Ammunition will be provided in .223, 9mm, .40 and .45.
