Shooting on the Move
Course Hours: 16.0 Hours
Course Description
This 16-hour training course is designed to transition officers from static lane shooting to dynamic threat engagement. Officers will develop the skills necessary to accurately engage paper and steel targets while moving in multiple directions?forward, rearward, and laterally. The curriculum emphasizes officer survival through the combination of movement, effective use of cover, and weapon manipulation under stress. Training will utilize both the duty pistol and patrol carbine.

Students must be sworn/certified Law Enforcement.

Special Notes
Officers are required to bring a semi-auto pistol with or without a weapon mounted light or mounted optic, agency-issued duty belt and holster, (holster must have at least level 2 retention), double magazine pouch, three magazines, semi-auto patrol rifle with a sling, (RIFLE MUST BE CHAMBERED IN 5.56 and ZEROED AT 50 YARDS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL), three rifle magazines, rifle magazine pouch. Ammunition will be provided in calibers: 9mm, 40 SW, 45 ACP, and 5.56. Students requiring any other calibers must contact the coordinator for the correct round count.
