Course Description

This course is designed for School Resource Officers and/or any law enforcement officer who is likely to be first on scene to an active threat. During this course, officers will be taught best practices on utilizing the rifle while responding to an active threat. Officers will develop skills on single officer structure clearing techniques, threat engagements, movement drills, and force on force scenarios while operating the rifle.

Prerequisites

Students must be POST certified and sworn law enforcement. Before attending this course, officers must complete the Single Officer Response, Active Threat (SORAT) course.

Who Should Attend

This course will be most beneficial to School Resource Officers, but is also applicable to any law enforcement agencies that do not have dedicated SROs. Officers currently assigned to an SRO position will receive priority registration.

Special Notes

Officers are required to bring their full duty belt and flashlight.  It is strongly recommended that they also bring hearing and eye protection, gloves, long sleeve shirts or jacket, note-taking material, civilian attire for role play, attire for inclement weather, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks, and a refillable water container.

This is not a Basic-level course. Students should be familiar in the use of the rifle and its operation prior to attending. If the student is using an optic, it should be mounted and zeroed before starting class. The rifle must have a sling.
