Fire and Emergency Services Training Officer

Course Description
This course will prepare fire and emergency services personnel to lead the overall training program for their agency. Topics range from needs assessment, curricula development, administrative duties, and resource management. During the course, each student will develop and present a needs analysis and recommendations for change in their department's training program. This course will meet and exceed the requirements for NFPA 1020, Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, Fire Officer, and Emergency Medical Services Officer Professional Qualifications Chapter 6, Fire Instructor III.
Prerequisites
Certification at the level of Fire Instructor II.
Who Should Attend
This program is intended for persons now serving or who may potentially serve as a training officer for a fire and/or emergency services organization. This includes individuals who manage training programs within their organizations, such as mid-level and administrative officers, as well as personnel preparing for assignment as training officers.
Special Notes
Students should provide IFSTA's Fire Instructor 9th Edition, ISBN #978-0-87939-696-1. Students need to bring a laptop as well.
