Crisis Response Training

Course Description

This training program equips first responders with essential knowledge, skills, and strategies for effectively responding to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises, emotional distress, or other crisis situations. Through a combination of interactive lectures and practical exercises, participants will learn to: identify various types of crises and their underlying factors; assess risk and implement appropriate safety protocols; master verbal and non-verbal de-escalation strategies; effectively communicate with individuals in heightened emotional states;  navigate mental health resources and referral pathways; and enhance officer safety while promoting positive outcomes for individuals in crisis.
