CIT Refresher
Course Hours: 8.0 Hours
Course Description
The CIT Refresher Course is designed to provide updated legal information and enhance responders ability to make informed decisions when engaging individuals experiencing mental illness. Participants will review the signs and symptoms of common mental health disorders and learn effective engagement techniques to support successful crisis de-escalation. This course fulfills the annual two hour community oriented policing training required by the Governor's Initiative.
Prerequisites
Students attending this course must have successfully completed the 40-hour Georgia Crisis Intervention Team training course.
Who Should Attend
Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS personnel of all assignments will benefit from this course.
