Tactical Low Light Skills
Course Hours: 16.0 Hours
Course Description
This course is designed to allow officers to train in a low light
environment. By utilizing night time range drills and the low light training
building, officers will participate in marksmanship drills and scenarios, while
operating in conditions where there is reduced or no lighting.
Training Outcomes
The desired outcome for each student is a better
understanding of skills associated with operating in adverse light or low light
conditions. After completing this course, the student will have an
improved knowledge of how low light affects the human eye and the techniques
required to maintain positive threat identification.
Prerequisites
Students attending must be certified and sworn law enforcement officers.
Special Notes
Students must bring their semi-automatic duty pistol, magazines, duty gear, body armor and a hand-held flashlight, as well eye protection, hearing protection and a hat with brim.
