Designated Marksman for Patrol

Course Hours: 16.0 Hours

Course Description

This course is designed to enhance the rifle user's ability to place accurate fire using magnified optics.  Targets utilized will be partially exposed, long distance, or hostage-takers encountered during patrol operations.  Students will engage targets from contact distance out to 500 yards.  This enhanced training is NOT a substitute for a patrol rifle class.  This course is only for currently trained patrol rifle operators and instructors.

Prerequisites

Officers must have a rifle that has a magnified optic, and arrive at class with the optic already mounted and zeroed.  No class time will be allotted or permitted for mounting or zeroing the optic.

Who Should Attend

The target audience for this training is patrol officers who are assigned a semi-automatic rifle with a magnified optic, and have already been trained in the basic use of a rifle.  Because of the exercises that will be conducted, students should be in good physical condition.

Special Notes

Officers are required bring their issued semi-automatic rifle with magnified optic, sidearm, magazine pouches for their rifle and sidearm, eye protection, ear protection, and a hat with a brim.

This course is a direct delivery training taught by MTLE Training.
