Use of Force Fundamentals
Course Hours: 16.0 Hours
Course Description
This course is designed to provide the student with key concepts of use of force and de-escalation, police legitimacy, procedural justice and community relations training. This course provides scenario-based training that allows students an opportunity to utilize the techniques taught.
Upon completion, this course will satisfy a portion of the mandatory Governor's Initiative training (use of force, de-escalation, community policing).
Prerequisites
Students must be employed and sworn by a local, state, or federal agency.
Who Should Attend
This training is designed for law enforcement officers who are in direct contact with the public.
Special Notes
Student must bring duty gear (minus firearm, ammo, OC spray, baton, TASER), training uniform, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
