Fire Suppression - Passenger Vehicle with Live Fire

Course Hours: 3.0 Hours

Course Description

This course is for in-service training. It is an innovatively designed, realistic training program to instruct the firefighter in the effective techniques for suppressing a passenger vehicle fire.  The live fire evolutions will utilize the grant funded (AFG) Georgia Fire Academy, Volunteer Initiative Program live fire car prop. 

Prerequisites

Attendees must be a member of a compliant fire department and fit the requirement defined in O.C.G.A. Title 25-4-2 (6).

Who Should Attend

Firefighters seeking training to maintain and/or enhance their firefighting and rescue mitigation knowledge and skills.

Special Notes

Students must provide positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full structural firefighter protective clothing to include boots, coat, pants, gloves, helmet, and hood. All clothing and equipment must be in good condition and meet applicable NFPA standards. No shorts or sleeveless shirts may be worn.
