Course Description

Pipeline Emergencies: Air Monitoring (Extended) course builds upon the basic principles of air monitoring along with tactics as they relate to pipeline emergencies. Additional discussion expands on the practices of air monitoring and its necessity in emergency response when dealing with possible compromised pipelines. The course consists of a classroom portion followed by a hands-on practical exercise that places the student in an immersive, real-to-life environment with live product.

Prerequisites

Pipeline Emergencies: Command Officer Strategies or Pipeline Emergencies: Company Officer Tactics.

Who Should Attend

First responders on first due fire companies, hazmat teams, or any other responder responsible for conducting operations on a pipeline emergency.

Special Notes

Students must provide positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full structural firefighter protective clothing to include boots, coat, pants, gloves, helmet, and hood. All clothing and equipment must be in good condition and meet applicable NFPA standards.
