Course Description

NENA's Enhanced Caller Management course helps you become a better call taker, enhances your professional skills, and improves outcomes for your agency and the community you serve. From active listening to decision making, local knowledge to performing efficiently in a crisis, the journey to becoming a star performer under the headset starts here. This exciting course builds upon basic standards, protocols, and policies to help you advance to the next level of 9-1-1 call taking proficiency on your journey towards professional mastery. Topics include: handling infrequent but highly critical events, improving listening skills, and developing a plan to keep your skills growing to meet new challenges.

Prerequisites

Ga. POST Communications Officer certification.

Who Should Attend

This course is appropriate for public safety communications professionals of all ranks.

Special Notes

This course is only open to communications officers who are certified by Georgia POST Council and are employed by a Georgia Emergency Communications Center designated as a primary PSAP. 


 This course is being paid for through Next Generation 911 Block Grants administered by the Georgia Emergency Communications Authority. Once accepted, students will receive a link to register directly with NENA. Put "GECA" in the PO number field to avoid being billed. NENA will invoice GECA directly, and the students tuition will be deducted from the agency's Block Grant allotment.
