Improving Law Enforcement Dispatcher Performance

Course Description

Telecommunicators often work with Law Enforcement first responders, but it is generally only over the phone and radio. The purpose of this class is to provide Telecommunicators the knowledge they need to recognize the critical role they play in Law Enforcement Services. This 8-hour training will explain how Dispatchers and Call Takers play a crucial role in Law Enforcement by providing four mini-training sessions. Sessions will include a presentation by the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of Georgia (PAC), Drug Recognition Enforcement experts (DRE), Gang Investigation experts, and peer support training available to communications officers.

Prerequisites

Attendees must be POST-certified as a Communications Officer under O.C.G.A. 35-8-23.

Who Should Attend

Communications Officers, Trainers, and Supervisors.

Special Notes

While this course is made up of four mini sessions, registration is required as a single course for all four sessions.  To receive POST training credit, the attendees must complete all 8 hours of training.
