Speed Detection Operator (Classroom)

Course Description
This course is designed to improve the effectiveness of speed enforcement through the use of RADAR and LIDAR speed measurement devices by training law enforcement officers in the principles, proper operation, and statutory and case law related to the operation of speed detection devices.
Who Should Attend
Certified law enforcement officers that enforce speed regulations as a matter of their assignment.
Special Notes
When attending the course, students should bring a vehicle equipped with an approved RADAR device. Students should also bring a department issued, Department of Public Safety approved LASER. For a list of approved devices check the link http://dps.georgia.gov/approved-speed-detection-devices.
