Volunteer Firefighter Survival Skills - Maze

Course Hours: 1.5 Hours

Course Description

This course is for in-service training. It is designed to instruct the firefighter in the effective and safe methods of firefighter survival. Students will practice techniques for ?MAYDAY? procedures, searching for an exit, negotiating wire entanglement, and restricted passages.  The evolutions will take place in the Georgia Fire Academy Volunteer Initiative Program SCBA Confidence Trailer. 

 

Prerequisites

Attendees must be a State of Georgia Certified Firefighter a member of a compliant fire department and fit the definition of "firefighter" as defined in O.C.G.A. Title 25-4-2(6).   

Who Should Attend

This course should be attended by firefighters seeking training to maintain and/or enhance their firefighting and rescue mitigation knowledge and skills.

 

Special Notes

Students must provide positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full structural firefighter protective clothing to include boots, coat, pants, gloves, helmet, and hood. All clothing and equipment must be in good condition and meet applicable NFPA standards. No shorts or sleeveless shirts may be worn.
