Fire Apparatus Emergency Vehicle Operations Course
Course Hours: 24.0 Hours
Course Description
This 24 hour course covers NFPA 1002 Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications. The course includes legal responsibilities and requirements, preventive maintenance, air brake systems, high center of gravity/tank operations and due regard driving. The practical portion of this course consists of NFPA Standard 1002 cone course and over the road driving assessment.
Prerequisites
Must have a Class A, Class E or Class F license.
Who Should Attend
Any individuals that are desiring to become a fire apparatus driver/operator for their organization should attend.
Special Notes
Students must provide a helmet, gloves, suitable clothing for outside work, traffic safety vest and a copy of their organizations daily vehicle inspection sheet.
