Counter Assault Tactics
Course Hours: 16.0 Hours
Course Description
This 16-hour course is designed to provide officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to sudden assaults/ambushes. Officers will receive training in pre-assault indicators, counter assault defense, threat mitigation techniques, and tactical emergency medical skills. This is a hands-on course; therefore, officers should be physically prepared for intense training and force-on-force scenarios.
Prerequisites
Students must be certified and sworn law enforcement.
Special Notes
Students should bring note-taking materials and duty gear or tactical gear, including their ballistic vest worn while on duty. This course uses Simunition; therefore, the student will also need to bring protection such as long-sleeve shirts or a jacket and groin protection. Head and throat protection will be provided. Students may bring snacks and a refillable water container due to limited breaks.
