Terrorism: Introduction to Domestic Terrorism
Course Hours: 8.0 Hours
Course Description
This 8-hour course is designed to provide public safety personnel with an understanding of the objectives, ideologies, and tactics of terrorism. Current potential threat elements within the State of Georgia will be discussed as well as acts of terrorism that have occurred in the past within the state. Public safety personnel will receive an introduction to terrorist planning and operations as well as observation methods to aid in identifying potential acts of violence.
Prerequisites
LAW ENFORCEMENT SENSITIVE. Due to the nature of the course, the following prerequisites must be met: (1) Students must be employed by a local, state or federal public safety agency. (2) Non-law enforcement certified applicants with pending felony charges or convictions are prohibited from attendance. The course coordinator may require production of a criminal history record prior to attendance for non-LEO certified public safety personnel.
