Vehicle Pursuit Termination Techniques
Course Hours: 40.0 Hours
This course is designed to provide scenario based training on the common types of pursuit termination techniques deployed by law enforcement agencies. The training will consist of utilizing Tire Deflation Devices, Box-In Technique, and the Precision Immobilization Technique in a scenario where due regard, decision making, and communication will be performed under the stress of a controlled pursuit.
Proof of successful completion of a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.) class at the beginning of the course and one of the following courses: BLETC EVOC, Basic EVOC, Advanced Law Enforcement EVOC Level 2 (LEEVOC 2) or Law Enforcement Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Level 1 (LEEVOC 1). Student officers must be current/active law enforcement officials and must possess a valid driver's license.
Who Should Attend
Law enforcement officers who are employed by an agency that currently use Tire Deflation Devices, the Box-In Technique, or the Precision Immobilization Technique to terminate a pursuit.
