Gang Recognition and Identification Training Course

Course Hours: 24.0 Hours

Course Description

This course is designed for law enforcement officers investigating gang-related criminal activity. The topics of instruction will equip officers with skills and knowledge to recognize gang culture, gang paraphernalia, and gang members who participate in criminal activities. This course is a pre-requisite for the Gang Investigation and Prosecution class.

Prerequisites

Students attending this training must be active certified peace officers with the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council. Due to the nature of this training, only criminal investigators working for the Georgia Department of Corrections will be allowed to attend, not correction officers.

Who Should Attend

Georgia Peace Officer Training Council (GA POST) certified officers and/or Georgia Department of Corrections criminal investigators, who are assigned to criminal investigations involving gang investigations.

Students coming to this course should bring a laptop computer to view the course materials.
