Tactical Explosive Breacher

Course Description

This 6-day course is geared toward personnel who wish to gain the knowledge and expertise necessary to build an explosive breaching program for their agency or to expand upon an existing one. The training is specifically designed to teach officers the necessary skills required to become successful operational breachers and provide the knowledge and capabilities to deploy these skills in real-world situations. An emphasis is given to real-life application of this breaching method under various tactical conditions. Officers will be taught in all aspects of explosive breaching, to include charge calculation, charge construction, target analysis, proper deployment, tactical considerations, and various issues pertaining to liability.

Prerequisites

Law enforcement sensitive. Students must be employed by a local, state or federal public safety agency.

Who Should Attend

Certified and sworn , state, federal or military law enforcement.

Special Notes

Students must be prepared for this physical course which will be conducted outdoors. Students must bring BDU-type or similar tactical uniforms suitable for outdoor environments to include boots, gas mask with working filters, eye and ear protection, body armor (heavy or concealed), ballistic helmet, and gloves. Other recommended/optional items include head lamp, knee pads, and duty weapon/duty rifle. Students should bring note taking materials such as a pen and paper.  Students should bring attire for inclement weather, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks, and a refillable water container in anticipation of weather conditions and limited breaks.
