Use of Force Investigations

Course Description
An officer-involved use of force incident could unjustly affect an agency's credibility in the community. The Use of of Force Investigations course is an advanced training program for front-line supervisors, Internal Affairs investigators, and/or Command Staff who are likely to perform internal reviews of non-deadly and deadly force incidents in order to present a legally sound, unbiased analysis to determine reasonableness. Focus will be on use of force incidents that occur during initial officer/citizen contacts, in a jail facility, and in a prison setting.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for all local, state, and federal law enforcement front-line supervisors, Internal Affairs investigators, and/or Command Staff who may be responsible for reviewing and evaluating a departmental use of force incident.
