Public Safety ATV Train the Trainer Course
Course Hours: 16.0 Hours
Course Description
This 16-hour course will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct ATV training for public safety applications including emergency or rapid response. This course presents the student trainers with various obstacle and hazard negotiations along with exercises that may be encountered during the operation of an All Terrain Vehicle for patrol functions.
Prerequisites
Applicants must have already attended and passed an approved Basic ATV Operators Course (GPSTC ATV Rider's course/DNR Course/US Foresty Course/ATV Safety Institute Rider's Course).
Who Should Attend
POST certified law enforcement and similarly certified public safety personnel who utilize All Terrain Vehicles ATV's during the course of their duties. Those who attend will obtain knowledge and skills of safe operation of ATV's used for patrol functions and provide information learned to those desiring the need of ATV training.
Special Notes
Students must provide a properly functioning ATV and safety equipment including helmet, goggles (unless helmet has windscreen), long pants and over the ankle boots. Rain gear, gloves and long sleeves may be needed depending on weather. A personal hydration device (camelbak, etc.) is recommended.
