Who Should Attend: Law Enforcement Officers and others tasked with investigation and prosecution of family violence incidents.

Prerequisite: None.

This course, offered through the Governor's Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, is designed for law enforcement training in the investigation of family violence incidents in compliance with Official Code of Georgia Annotated ( O.C.G.A.) 17-4-20. The course will provide skills and knowledge necessary to enforce O.C.G.A. 19-13-1 in a safe and legal manner. Topics include Dynamics of Abuse, Victimology, Abuser Behavior, Current Data on Family Violence Trends in Georgia, Misdemeanor and Felony Offenses, and Data from Current Georgia Fatality Review Project.
