EMS Functions in ICS

Course Description

This course will provide students with the opportunity to manage the medical EMS components of a variety of simulated mass casualty incidents (MCIs) using the NIMS ICS.

Prerequisites


Students must complete FEMA's IS-201 Forms Used for the Development of the Incident Action Plan.  

This is a web-based training course on the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS). The course is designed to provide training through an independent study on the use of ICS forms.


***Student must bring the IS-201 course and bring the certificate to the first day of class***

Who Should Attend

The primary audience for this training includes EMS personnel who have duties involving emergency/disaster scene management at small- to medium-sized incidents (e.g., front line supervisors, street supervisors and shift supervisors).

The Student Manual for this course is available to download on your GPSTC Student Dashboard in a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) format, which will function on any electronic device. You may, however, choose to print your own copy or arrange to have one printed by the GPSTC Print Shop at your own expense.
