Coroners In-service: Death Scene Investigations

Course Description
This course is designed to meet the annual training requirements for coroners and deputy coroners as set by the Georgia Coroners Training Council. Topics include the Georgia Death Investigations Act, death scene management, and the body as a crime scene.
Prerequisites
Completion of a coroner's basic course is required for any person registering for this course. Anyone attending a coroner's basic course or coroner's in-service course, other than a coroner, coroner-elect, appointed coroner or deputy coroner, must have written permission from the coroner of the county of residence.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for coroners, deputy coroners or persons assigned to a medical examiner's office.
Special Notes
This course is approved by the Georgia Coroners Training Council as an annual in-service course. The fee for this course is $360.00 and should be paid prior to attending this course. Payment may be made by check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Students should download and print the student manual prior to attending class. Students are highly encouraged to bring any photographic equipment they use with them to class.
