TASER
Course Hours: 8.0 Hours
Course Description
This course is designed to certify the user in the use of the TASER Conducted Electrical Weapon (CEW), specifically the X26. This course provides a brief overview of CEW technology, medical safety, and use in tactical considerations. The student will experience the effects of the TASER, and deploy the TASER in various practical applications.
Training Outcomes
Provide the student with the knowledge and ability to legally deploy a TASER in an appropriate arrest situation, and to have knowledge of proper aftercare.
Prerequisites
The student must be employed with an agency that will assign a TASER, specifically a X26, to the student upon successful completion of this course.
Who Should Attend
Anyone employed with a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency and is designated to carry and use a TASER on duty.
Special Notes
Student must bring duty gear (minus firearm, ammo, OC spray, baton). Agency supplied TASER is optional as the student will be assigned a TASER for in-class use. Comfortable clothes should be worn for the duration of this course.
