Course Hours: 16.0 Hours
The Tactical Handcuffing training program is designed for public safety officers to reduce the potential of injury and liability risk when lawfully restraining and controlling an aggressive subject. The tactics and techniques in this training curriculum are for incidents where the public safety officer is lawful and justified in applying a restraining device (handcuffs) to a subject.
To provide officers with proper instruction for the quick and efficient application of handcuffs, ensuring proper placement and fit of the restraint, and care of the arrested individual, in order to enhance officer safety while reducing the potential for injury.
Must be a sworn and certified law enforcement officer.
Who Should Attend
Law enforcement officers seeking to expand their knowledge of handcuffing and control and restraint techniques.
Student manual, pencil, personal protection, flash light, handcuffs with key, duty gear (without ammo/firearm, OC, TASER, or baton), towel, and water.
