Latent Print Examiner Certification

Course Description

This course is the final step for students on the Latent Print Examiner Certification track. Students who have successfully completed the five latent print classes and all associated reading assignments within the required 36 month time frame will use this course to submit their third-party competency test results. Georgia POST Rule 464-13-.19 Latent Print Examiner Certification. Each person applying for Latent Print Examiner Certification must: (1) Complete the required core courses as prescribed by the Council within 36 month of the start date of the first required course; (2) Currently assigned to Latent Print Examiner duties; (3) Complete the initial latent proficiency test from an ISO/IEC 17043 accredited provider; and (4) Maintain an administrative file documenting completion of required biannual latent proficiency tests.

Successful completion of the following five courses and all assigned reading: 1. Intermediate Friction Ridge Analysis I 2. Intermediate Friction Ridge Analysis II 3. Advanced Friction Ridge Analysis 4. Palm Print Comparison 5. Latent Print Expert Testimony
