Campus Fire and Life Safety II: Public Education

Course Description

This 2-day National Fire Academy program provides students with the ability to create and implement a comprehensive campus fire and life safety public education program. There will be a focus on looking at the on-campus and off-campus fire risks and educating students, school personnel, and other stakeholders about these risks.

State and Local government officials including fire and emergency services; Public education specialists with an interest in Campus Life Safety; University and College campus staff with responsibility for student safety and security.

Special Notes

This is an NFA Direct Delivery. The National Fire Academy does not utilize Social Security Numbers on their registration form; this form is in addition to the Georgia Public Safety Training Center application process. The NFA form will be completed on the first day of the course. Students must provide the Student Identification Number on the first day of the course. What this means to you: This number is used in place of a Social Security Number and is obtained through the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). Applications for NFA courses that do not include a SID will not be processed, failure to provide the SID will result in the student not receiving credit for the course. To obtain a SID: 1. Register at https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid 2. Select "Need a FEMA SID?" on the right side of the screen. 3. Follow the instructions to create your account. 4. You will receive an email with your SID. Save this number in a secure location. Use the SID in place of the SSN on the General Admissions Application Form (FEMA Form 119-25-1) and General Admissions Application Short Form (FEMA Form 119-25-2).
