Prerequisite: Persons accepted in this course must be a member of a fire department in compliance with O.C.G.A. Title 25-3-23 and must have successfully completed a Basic Fire Fighter Module 1 course or any other titled Georgia Fire Academy prescribed Basic Fire Fighter course.

This course is designed to give firefighters the basic knowledge, skills and confidence needed to control and extinguish structural fires. Students will participate in fire fighting drills at all stages of fire progress and will learn to recognize the various fire conditions and dangers associated with interior structural fire fighting. Practical drills include a live fire demonstration of fire behavior, single room drills, and multiple room drills. The course is based upon performance objectives and students must complete all objectives to receive credit for the course.

Special Notes: Students must bring with them structural firefighting personal protective equipment to include self contained breathing apparatus. It is also preferred to bring an extra cylinder if possible. This class is a physically intensive course that requires a great deal of crawling.
