Pistol Caliber Carbine

Course Description

This course is intended for officers issued select fire sub-machine guns or pistol caliber carbine. Topics include safety and legal issues, as well as operational concerns specific to the officer's weapon, mechanical functioning concepts for implementation of shooting fundamentals, loading, and immediate action. Practical exercises will include semi-automatic marksmanship, fully automatic burst control (if applicable) and engagement of moving and steel reactionary targets. Ammunition in 9 MM, .40, and .45 will be furnished.

Training Outcomes

Officers will be taught the fundamentals and the advanced skills necessary to deploy and accurately fire the weapon system.

Prerequisites

Students must be certified and sworn law enforcement, who have been issued the select fire sub-machine gun or the  pistol caliber carbine. 

Who Should Attend

This course should be attended by certified law enforcement officers who have been issued select-fire sub-machine guns or pistol caliber carbine, for use during their tour of duty.

Special Notes

Officers must bring their issued duty gear, select fire sub-machine gun or pistol caliber carbine, sidearm, and magazine pouches for all their weapon platforms.  Other essential supplies required include eye protection, ear protection, and a hat with a brim. Center fire rifle calibers are prohibited.
