High Risk Warrant and Arrest Tactics
Course Hours: 32.0 Hours
Course Description
This course is designed for officers who participate in high risk warrant service and arrests. Key topics include key raid concepts, use of force, lawful entry and search, tactical equipment, operation planning & briefing, ballistic shields, breaching operations, tactics overview, warrant execution in structures, and vehicle takedown operations. Students will participate in a variety of practical exercises and performance examinations requiring the use of skills discussed in classroom lecture. The course includes practical exercises that will be performed from 6:00 p.m. thru 10:00 p.m., normally conducted on the Wednesday and Thursday of each program. The course concludes at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Students should bring durable tactical clothing including long sleeve shirt or jacket, equipped tactical or duty belt, flashlight, and tactical or standard body armor. No firearms, knives, or intermediate weapons shall be removed from a student's vehicle during the course, to include baton, Taser®, and OC spray. Please adequately secure all weapons and ammunition upon arrival.
Prerequisites
Students must be certified peace officers or employed by a law enforcement agency requiring their attendance.
Who Should Attend
Any local, state, or federal law enforcement officer who may be involved in high risk warrant service.
Special Notes
Each officer should wear clothing that is practical for moderate to intense training, some of which will be performed outdoors. Be prepared for all climates and weather conditions as training will be performed outdoors rain or shine. It is pertinent that each officer bring bug spray, sunscreen, and water bottle/hydration device.
