High Risk Warrant and Arrest Tactics

Course Description

This course is designed for officers who participate in high risk warrant service and arrests. Key topics include key raid concepts, use of force, lawful entry and search, tactical equipment, operation planning and briefing, ballistic shields, breaching operations, tactics overview, warrant execution in structures, and vehicle takedown operations. Students will participate in a variety of practical exercises requiring the use of skills discussed in classroom lecture. 

Training Outcomes

At the conclusion of this course, students will have a better understanding of planning and executing high risk warrants by becoming familiar with the legal issues, information gathering concepts, tools, and tactics that are essential in the carrying out of this law enforcement function.

Prerequisites

Students must be certified peace officers or employed by a law enforcement agency requiring their attendance.

Who Should Attend

Any local, state, or federal law enforcement officer who may be involved in high risk warrant service will benefit from this training.

Special Notes

Each officer should wear clothing that is practical for moderate to intense training, some of which will be performed outdoors. Be prepared for all climates and weather conditions, as training will be performed outdoors, in all weather conditions.  Officers should bring durable tactical clothing, including a long sleeve shirt or jacket, in addition to the required equipped tactical or duty belt, flashlight, and tactical or standard body armor.  It is pertinent that each officer also bring bug spray, sunscreen, and water bottle/hydration device.
