Course Description
This course is designed to improve the officer's proficiency and confidence with a 12 gauge pump or semi-automatic shotgun. This is not a basic or fundamentals course, it is an advanced shotgun class. Range exercises and classroom instruction will be provided in mounting, loading, unloading, and shooting drills. Officers will also participate in exercises using multiple targets, proper use of cover, combat reloading, and ammunition exchange drills.
Prerequisites
Must be a certified and sworn law enforcement officer who is issued a shotgun.
Who Should Attend
Any certified and sworn law enforcement officer who is issued a shotgun.
Special Notes
Officers should bring a 12 gauge pump action or semi-automatic shotgun equipped with a sling, shell carrier(s), hearing protection, eye protection, and a hat with a brim.
