Drug Recognition Expert Recertification

Course Description
This course is designed for Drug Recognition Experts seeking re-certification as a DRE. The International Association of Chiefs of Police requires DREs to re-certify every two years. Drug Recognition Experts will be required to attend an eight hour update which will consist of curriculum changes, narrative formation, courtroom testimony skills, and information on the importance of entering drug influence evaluations on the data tracking system. In addition, DREs will provide documentation on four "hands on" drug evaluations as well as submit an updated curriculum vitae.
Prerequisites
Student must be a certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) through the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
Who Should Attend
Currently certified Drug Recognition Experts who are seeking to maintain their certification should attend this course.
Special Notes
Students will be required to be up-to-date with at least four "hands on" evaluations (two per calendar year) and submit an updated curriculum vitae.
