Fire Department Administrator

Course Hours: 80.0 Hours

Course Description

The Fire Department Administrator course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for chief fire officers to perform administrative, division-level functions of the fire department. Additional topics in this course include dealing with human resources, training, division-level leadership, emergency operations, and community risk reduction. At the conclusion of this course, the student will be tested by Georgia Firefighter’s Standards and Training Council for certification at the level of Fire Officer III.

Prerequisites

Students must have successfully completed the Fire Department Management course offered by GPSTC or possess NPQ Pro Board Fire Officer II certification.

Who Should Attend

Battalion Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, and Fire Chiefs and / or those working toward these positions.

Special Notes

The student will be required to complete an improvement planning project that will coincide with the GFSTC Fire Officer III task book. 

Students must have a working knowledge Microsoft Word platforms and data collection. 

Students will need to provide a personal Laptop with Microsoft Word or compatible software and thumb drive for this course.
