Course Description
This course of training is for Fire and Emergency Services personnel at the Chief Officer Level. This course is targeted toward the Deputy or Assistant Chief Officer or Company Officer aspiring to become a Chief Officer. Topics will include Leadership, Budgeting, Personnel Management, Training, Operations, Fire Prevention, Strategic Planning, and more. The class will meet one day a week for 8 sessions. There is a mandatory strategic planning project that must be presented on campus to the instructor 60 days after the last day of class.
Prerequisites
Letter from Fire Chief. It is highly recommended to have completed Fire Department Management due to many topics being a continuation from that course.
Who Should Attend
Battalion Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, and Fire Chiefs or those working toward these positions.
Special Notes
This class meets and exceeds NFPA 1021 requirements for NPQ Fire Officer III. The NPQ Fire Officer III test is the end of course test and will be on the last day of class. Students must bring with them their Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training ID number on the test day.
