Basic Vehicle & Machinery Extrication Techniques - Level I

Course Description

This is a 24 hour course for the responder who is ready to take on the responsibility and training necessary to become a proficient rescuer that will perform as a team member on vehicle and machinery extrication responses. The student will be asked to demonstrate basic rescue functions to include use of extrication tools and patient packaging. The benefit of the training is to give understanding to the physical requirements and emergency actions needed of the rescuing responder to be successful in an emergency vehicle or machinery extrication event. Vehicle anatomy, patient packaging, and scene termination are just a few of the items discussed in the course delivery.

Prerequisites

Georgia Basic Firefighter certification or NPQ Firefighter I, NIMS levels 700 and 100, CPR, and Basic First Aid.

Who Should Attend

Any firefighter or rescue team member that may be involved in vehicle extrication rescues.
