Acting Officer in Charge

Course Hours: 32.0 Hours

Course Description

This is a 32-hour course for the firefighter who is ready to take on the responsibility and training necessary to become a Fire Company Officer, or is already a Company Officer with a desire to be professionally challenged. The student will be asked to demonstrate basic operational functions to include incident size-up and risk management at the lowest level. The benefit of the training is that it gives students an understanding of the operational requirements of the line supervisor/company officer. Fire Department and EMS Fusion, Firefighter Safety and Readiness, Smoke Dynamics, and Building Construction considerations are just a few of the items discussed in the course delivery.

Prerequisites

Students must have NIMS 100, 200 

Who Should Attend

Newly appointed Company Officers, those individuals that are under consideration for promotion to Company Officer, or those individuals assuming the responsibility of the Company Officer.

Special Notes

Students will need to provide a personal Laptop with Microsoft Word or compatible software and thumb drive for this course.
