Pump Service Testing
Course Hours: 8.0 Hours
Course Description
This training is directed to fire department personnel who will be performing service tests on fire service pumps. Students will examine the purpose of testing pump apparatus, especially as related to NFPA standards and insurance evaluation organizations. They will also learn methods of documenting the results of these tests using examples of forms and charts. Layout and setup of the test equipment, preparation of the apparatus for the test, and required testing devices are reviewed. The culmination of the course is the actual testing of a pumping apparatus in a practical exercise.
Who Should Attend
Personnel who will be performing service tests on fire service pumps or fire service personnel with responsibilities in fire pump operations.
Special Notes
Students should provide a calculator, which is helpful but not essential. Students should bring helmet, turnout or steel-toe boots, gloves and clothing for outside activities.
