Course Description

This is a comprehensive course designed for instructors responsible for planning and implementing health and wellness programs in their agencies. Subjects include physiology, skeletal and muscle anatomy, kinesiology, exercise physiology, conditioning analysis, blood pressure, body composition, heart rate, flexibility, strength, cardiovascular endurance, injury treatment, relaxation, stress, and nutrition.

Prerequisites

POST General Instructor certification or NPQ equivalent. Proof of certification must be sent in prior to attendance approval. Students will be accepted from the Waiting List in order of certificate submissions.

Who Should Attend

Any local, state, or federal employee.

Special Notes

Attendees must bring walking/running shoes, non-marking court shoes, and work-out clothes. This course is a recognized equivalent course for the Health and Wellness Course that is required for the POST Intermediate Certification.
