Defensive Tactics Instructor Course
Course Hours: 80.0 Hours
Course Description
Given a written examination and a practical exercise, identify components of the G.D.C. Use of Force policy with at least 70% accuracy, and demonstrate tactics to control a resistive and non-resistive inmate by attaining a GO status on each technique in the practical exercise.
Prerequisites
All students will possess a post-instructor certification and be an employee of a law enforcement agency. Students should be in reasonably good health and able to perform the different control techniques taught in this course.
Who Should Attend
All instructors who will teach and assist in defense tactics and use of force control techniques.
Special Notes
This is a very physical and demanding course and students should be prepared. Students must have duty gear, expandable baton, physical training gear for each day, writing material for testing, change of clothing due to physical exercise, and a mass storage drive.
