Courthouse Security: Tactics for Random Attacks
Course Hours: 16.0 Hours
This 16-hour course is designed to provide officers assigned to courthouse security with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to random act of violence. Officers will receive training in pre-assault indicators, threat elimination/mitigation techniques, and tactical emergency medical skills. This is a hands-on course. Officers should be physically prepared for intense training and force-on-force scenarios.
Must be certified and sworn law enforcement.
Who Should Attend
Certified and sworn law enforcement officer.
Students need to bring note taking material. Students should bring duty gear, including ballistic vest, worn while on duty. This course uses Simunition; therefore the student will need to bring protection such as safety glasses with clear lenses, a hat with a brim, long sleeve shirt or jacket, and groin protection. Head and throat protection will be provided. Students should bring snacks and refillable water container due to limited breaks
