Crash Victim Extrication 1

Course Description

This course is designed for fire personnel who respond to motor vehicle crashes with victim entrapment. Key topics include ICS, vehicle anatomy, airbags, size up, victim disentanglement, patient removal, extrication tools, and responder safety. Students will participate in a variety of practical exercises in simulated automobile incidents utilizing skills presented in demonstrations and discussed in classroom lectures. Hands-on skills require Full Structural PPE or Extrication gear, safety boots, eye protection, gloves, and helmet.

First responders who respond to motor vehicle crashes.

This class requires the usage of Full Structural PPE or Extrication gear, safety boots, eye protection, gloves, and helmet.
The second day of this class will be conducted outside and students should be prepared for weather conditions.
