Youth Firesetter Program Manager

Course Description
This two-day course is based on the requirements of NFPA Standard 1035 pertaining to the Youth Firesetter Program Manager. The course is designed for the person who is responsible or will be responsible for leading a youth firesetting prevention and intervention program. The course covers the following topics: Review of the NFPA 1035 Standard for Youth Firesetting Intervention Specialist II; Leading a youth firesetting prevention and intervention program; Program development; and Program evaluation.
Prerequisites
Students must have or will have responsibilities related to developing, implementing, coordinating and/or managing a youth firesetting prevention and intervention program in their community. Students representing the fire service are encouraged to partner with other agencies for this training. Partners can include but are not limited to fire investigators, law enforcement, mental health, social services, juvenile justice or other stakeholders who can assist in building and maintaining programs in their communities.

Special Notes
Pre-course assignment must be completed before attending the course. This course formally replaces the course entitled Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist 2. The National Fire Academy does not utilize Social Security Numbers on their registration form; this form is in addition to the Georgia Public Safety Training Center application process. The NFA form will be completed on the first day of the course. Students must provide the Student Identification Number on the first day of the course. What this means to you: This number is used in place of a Social Security Number and is obtained through the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). Applications for NFA courses that do not include a SID will not be processed, failure to provide the SID will result in the student not receiving credit for the course. To obtain a SID: 1. Register at https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid 2. Select "Need a FEMA SID?" on the right side of the screen. 3. Follow the instructions to create your account. 4. You will receive an email with your SID. Save this number in a secure location. Use the SID in place of the SSN on the General Admissions Application Form (FEMA Form 119-25-1) and General Admissions Application Short Form (FEMA Form 119-25-2).
