Semi-Automatic Pistol Level 1

Course Description

This course is the first of three advanced pistol courses. It is designed to enhance a shooter's skill level above basic fundamentals. This course is not meant to be used as departmental remedial training. Students should have a minimum skill level of consistently achieving a passing score on the state mandated qualification course to expect successful completion of this course. Emphasis is placed on reinforcing the fundamentals of shooting, efficient use, and maintenance of this weapon system. Topics of instruction include the operation, care and maintenance, and shooting fundamentals of the semi-automatic pistol. Various range drills and exercises are included to reinforce these topics.

Prerequisites

Must be Certified and Sworn Law Enforcement.

Who Should Attend

Basic level and advanced officers are encouraged to enroll for Semi-Automatic Pistol Level 1.  Semi-Automatic Pistol Level 1 offers challenging drills for both basic and advanced officers that will enhance the skill level of each officer.

Special Notes

Students should bring their service weapon, agency issued duty gear, (holster with multiple retention devices, and a minimum of three magazines.  Students will also need ear protection, eye protection and a hat with a brim.  Ammunition will be provided in 9mm, .40cal, and .45acp.
