At-Risk Adult Investigation Fundamentals
Course Hours: 32.0 Hours
Course Description
This foundational course is designed for law enforcement officers who conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations relating to the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of Georgia's adults living with a disability, older adults, and adults living in a long-term care facility. Participants will gain essential knowledge and techniques for investigating crimes targeting these at-risk adults in both community and facility settings.
Who Should Attend
Law enforcement officers who respond to and investigate these complex cases are encouraged to attend. While this course is geared towards officers and investigators, coroners and attorneys may also find benefit in the information, in order to assist in the process of determining if abuse exists, and if so, how to document said abuse to result in a successful prosecution.
