11th Circuit Crisis Response Conference

Course Description

The 11th Circuit Crisis Conference is a collaboration of member states from the 11th Judicial Circuit (AL, FL, and GA). The conference will feature 5 tracks:  Executive, Judicial and Legislative; Recovery, Resilience, and Prevention; Advocacy; Crisis Response; and Youth. Workshops in each track will highlight innovations and best practices; policies; trends; successes and challenges in addressing behavioral health crisis and after care in youth and adult populations, to include systemic impacts on serving entities like law enforcement, behavioral health providers, court systems, and advocacy organizations representing families and citizens living in recovery. 

The conference will allow attendees to an opportunity to learn about and discuss topics on first responder resilience and support; youth gang involvement and prevention; L.E.A.P;  9-8-8; veterans and homelessness; mobile crisis response teams; legislative updates; Alabama's role in de-institutionalization; addressing hunger; military and emergency services research; the role of courts in treatment outcomes; the 14th Amendment; and Moving America's Soul on Suicide.

Training Outcomes

This program is intended to improve collaborations within each 11th Circuit member state's crisis response systems, and within the 11th Circuit broadly.

Who Should Attend

This course should be attended by law enforcement, judicial representatives, behavioral health providers and mental health advocates from 11th Circuit member states.
