Georgia 911 Directors' Academy
Course Hours: 40.0 Hours
Emergency Communication Centers are constantly evolving. New and emerging technologies, staffing issues, and increased awareness of the role of 9-1-1 in public safety present new challenges to 9-1-1 Directors around the country. This course will provide Georgia 9-1-1 Directors with the tools they need to lead people, manage systems, and meet local, state, and federal requirements by applying national best practices to their individual situations. Topics include: The Role of Emergency Communications in Georgia, Leadership Development and Professional Competence, Agency Operations Management, ECC Technology, Personnel and Human Resource Program Management, and Finance and Budget.
Student must currently serve in the role of an Emergency Communications Center director or be approved to attend by the Georgia Emergency Communications Authority. Prior to attending the course, students must provide proof of having completed courses IS-100, IS-700, and IS-800.
