Financial Investigation Fundamentals

Course Description

This course is designed to train public safety officers in the fundamentals of investigating financial crimes. Topics include introduction to fraud schemes, understanding the law, search warrants, insurance fraud, financial crimes involving at-risk adults, gathering financial documents and sources of information, record analysis, identity fraud, and fraudulent identification documents.

Prerequisites

Students must be Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certified Peace Officers, Georgia Fire Standards and Training Certified Fire Investigators, or prosecutors.
